The full form of GIS is “Geographic Information System“. It is a structure designed to capture, store, manipulate, analyze, manage and present spatial or geographical data. Geospatial data can be analyzed to determine (1) the location of resources and the relationship of a resource with other resources, (2) where the largest and/or smallest resource exists, (3) the density of resources in a certain space, (4) what happens within an area of interest (AOI), (5) what happens near some characteristic or phenomenon, and (6) and how a specific area has changed over time (and in what way).
