CNC: Computerized Numerical Control

The full form of CNC is “Computerized Numerical Control“. Numerical control is the automated control of machining tools (drills, boring tools, lathes) and 3D printers by means of a computer. A computer numerical control (CNC) is an automated controlling system with which digital electronic computers are used to control, automate, and monitor the activities of a machine. This machine processes a piece of material (such as metal, plastic, wood, ceramic, or composite) to meet specifications by following a coded programmed instruction and without a manual operator.

CNC is a vast improvement over non-computerized machining which always require a mechanic or engineer to run are replaced by these machines which are self-directing and self-regulatory.
