It is a left-wing, secular political party of India. Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) is a part of Indian National Congress (INC) led United Progressive Alliance (UPA). The RJD inherited its success and popularity as a party from Lalu Prasad Yadav, who founded RJD on 5 July 1997 he is the party’s leader since its inception and was the chief minister (head of government) of Bihar in 1990–97.
