The full form of EVS is “Environmental Studies“. The environment literally means the surroundings in which we live. The environment includes everything that we depend directly or indirectly on for our survival, whether they are living components such as animals, plants or non-living components such as soil, air, and water. It includes physical, chemical and other natural forces. Living things live in their environment and constantly interact with it and adapt themselves to the environmental conditions.

Environmental studies (EVS) are scientific studies of the environmental system and the state of its inherent or induced changes in organisms. It includes not only the study of the physical and biological characteristics of the environment but also the social and cultural factors and the impact of man on the environment. EVS is a multidisciplinary academic field that systematically studies human interaction with the environment. It is a broad field of study that includes the natural environment, the built environment and the relationship between them. There are many degree programs in environmental studies, including master’s and bachelor’s degrees.
