What is the full form of NTPC?
The full form of NTPC is National Thermal Power Corporation. It is an Indian public sector company, engaged in power generation and related activities. It was set up to accelerate the power generation in the country. NTPC is the largest power generating company in India. NTPC was ranked 400th among the 2000 largest companies in the world in 2016. In May 2010, NTPC became a Maharatna company of India. As of December 2021, Mr. Gurdeep Singh is the Chairman & MD of NTPC. It is headquartered in New Delhi and its regional headquarters are present in Delhi(NCRHQ), Lucknow(NRHQ), Secunderabad(SRHQ), Patna(ER-I HQ), Bhubaneshwar(ER-II HQ), Mumbai(WR-I HQ), Raipur(WR-II HQ),Delhi(Hydro HQ).
It has also been involved in coal mining, renewable energy, power trading, power distribution and equipment manufacturing besides its base operations of power generation.
