1) WEF: With Effect From

The acronym WEF stands for “With Effect From.” It simply means from this date/day on. It is used to represent the starting date of something. If you say that something will happen with immediate effect or with effect from (WEF) a particular time, you mean that it will begin to apply or be valid immediately or from the stated time. For example: If you are the owner of a Bus and you want to increase the prices of the ticket charges after a specific date due to an increase in rates of Petrol and Diesel. So, you have to put this on a notice like this:

“Due to an increase in the rate of Diesel, We would not be able to serve at former rates. So the management has decided to revise the prices of the ticket charges w.e.f 01/01/2020”.

2) WEF: World Economic Forum

The full form of WEF is World Economic Forum. Formerly, it was known as “European Management Forum” which was founded in 1971, later, it has changed its name as “World Economic Forum (WEF)” in 1987. It is a non-profit foundation, Headquartered in Cologny, Geneva. It is an independent international organization committed to benefiting the world by engaging the business, political, academic and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas. Its motto is “Committed to improving the state of the world” Klaus Schwab is the founder and Executive Chairman of WEF. It is a membership-based organization, and membership is made up of the world’s largest corporations. In January 2015 it was designated an NGO status by the Swiss Federal Government.
